50. boiling eggs and stuff
i am scared of cooking, so i don't know how to.
we have a gas stove in our house. to use it, you have to open the propane tank. when you're done, you have to close it (of course you do).
i've seen and/or heard of too many fires near me as a kid, probably more fires than a kid SHOULD witness. so i'd like to think that my nervousness around the stove is a little justified, actually! i live with my mom and siblings still, and mom loves to cook. i think this is a common filipino thing. never had to worry about food. but my god am i pathetic!
this year i had the strength... to boil eggs! i think just a few months ago. it's ,, the only thing i'm a little confident about. but i've been trying all sorts! hard boiled usually, then i make them into an egg salad... i recently am trying to perfect soft boiled eggs and putting them in a soy sauce marinade for hours. ramen eggs, they call it! mine keep turning out too salty... but it makes me happy eating things that i made...!! <:)
i am very proud of myself...!! maybe i'll look into boiling and making soups soon... egg drop soup, mmm... or those singaporean style boiled eggs you dip toast into. i really love eggs, if it isn't obvious.
oh, i'll try to get to emails when i can! i am a bit slow with them, since my social battery fluctuates a LOT. maybe i should dedicate mail writing days... 💭 i like that emails are generally a no rush form of communication. it's always easy to get caught up in the instant messaging system of today - i'd usually get overwhelmed when the conversation is in a fast paced dm... this doesn't have anything to do with eggs.
i am already thinking of the marinated soy egg in the fridge... i am so hungry... uwahhh...
