45. i have a 15 year old canon powershot sd400, no photographic skills, and some thoughts [📷]

my mom let me have the 15 or something year old digicam collecting dust in the drawers :] here's some test pics i took from my home!! ★

behold, my shitty work desk!! and my emotional support pikachu plushie. i like how the sun hits his face :) what a photogenic boy

backyard view... tennis court lamp, but doesn't look obvious enough. it's nice, though.

happy the moon is visible here!! it's all i wanted to test out, really. that house is abandoned. someone i was once close with used to live there. now no one does.

it works as well as it did 15 or something years ago!! a littleee worried about the battery life, because batteries can only ever last So Long before they poop out. but it looks to be well so far :0 ? but i haven't used the diggy enough to gauge out how long it lasts...

now a bit of a disclaimer, i have Never been a photographer at any point in my life. not photogenic, i don't go outside often. i don't have much people in my life to take pictures of. and i'm just as homebodied now, especially since i work from home!!

my life is too monotonous, so i find no reason to take so much pictures. or any at all. my monotonous life was able to produce the pictures i was able to take... but i can only take so much from that monotony until i run out.

so i... am a bit stumped on what to take pictures of. i want to!! don't get me wrong, this is very exciting!! but i wonder what kind of pictures i want to take... i haven't decided yet. i'm thinking of walking more. walking is good (wow breaking news!!), and i have been thinking of ways on how to start doing 10k a day. maybe i'll take my camera with me and take pictures of the city? i don't particularly live in a nice place, though...

... is it blasphemous to link a twitter post on this site? i assume not many people want to give traffic to that place. sorry for still using it. ahh, maybe a screenshot would be more appropriate maybeee?? :`]

look at this!! this is so nice, isn't it? to archive my city... i tried to see if "city archiving" is a thing, but i don't think my search led to any meaningful results. to be fair, maybe i wasn't searching deep enough. but i dunno!! the utility poles where i live (in the philippines, where the OP's photos were taken) aren't as... heavily decorated. but this is so nice. it feels like it's provided me some sort of direction of where i want my style of pictures to go.

but of course. maybe i'll just take pictures of what i think is neat! i may not know how pictures work or theory or what makes things aesthetic or how to compose the perfect shot... all those things are completely lost to me. so apologies for any ugliness.

aah, i wonder if i can have a little gallery for my images...? like instagram... but not instagram. absolutely not instagram. i hate it there. it looks ugly. so much ads. i hate meta so much. otherwise... posting here is fine, but i'd really appreciate some other dedicated platform where it can be just pictures. minus the words. i am throwing this question out into the void and hoping i get some sort of answer, but i'm not expecting anything really... (flickr feels too "professional" and i scratch my head around making my own neocities... i literally just talked about that neocities thing a few days ago1) (... but feel free to change my mind on flickr...)

all for now!!
