41. overthinking this bear thing again [final smol.pub archive... hellooooo bear blog dot dev]

apr 04, 2025: hello! this is the ominous blogger from the future! this here post is my final archive of my smol.pub blog (rest in peace)...

i mostly wanted to make the move for accessibility reasons. basically organizing entries in a way that won't make my eyes hurt. practical way. i like the layout on here better, is what i'm saying!!

the reasons i write are still all the same¹. so i won't bother making a new intro post after i get my blog verified or something. bweeeeeehhhh..

hope you all like my dumb ramblings from here on out :) it's a pleasure to be here, bears!!

both smol pub and bear blog are really good sites.

i enjoy the work i put into my garden here, but i realize that my Overly Complicated Tag and Index System can be greatly improved with bear's tag system. i am very much reconsidering my previous stance... which i'm a LITTLE ashamed of. that's okay though, i think. people are allowed to change their minds without the fear of judgements and the fear of being perceived as pandering just because option B is popular (aka the fear i have talking about this).

i hope i am not coming across as spineless u_u ... is that the right word...? english is hard.

i've made my bear blog, but i'd like to experiment by crossposting for a while. see which one provides more ease of access, since i'm doing all this blogging from a phone. phone posting: another reason why i'm going to test out the waters to see if the tagging function there saves me trouble. i fear that the way i tag things isn't the most... practical, in the long term. it's too manual. hardwork is rewarding, but i think choosing convenience is good once in a while. it IS still my brain thoughts i am dumping on a page...

also there's a particular style of indexing that i want to do, but i can't do it with smol pub. i could, but it hurts my sensitive eyes having to look at lists of very long hyperlinks. my eyes are very sensitive, so i think this is actually a good accessibility-aligned reason.

soo yeah. i'll slowly migrate my existing posts and try to replicate my tagging system. see how that goes. verdict will come sooner or later... it is 1am, and i am extremely exhausted from work today. blaaah.
